Anybody have experience keeping Angelfish with Acei?

How are acei with plants? I know they are african cichlids but not all cichlids are the same.

I've been trying to decide what to do with my 185g and what keeps coming back to mind is the first time I walked into HAW and saw that big tank to the left. I swore someday I would have a tank like that and, in my opinion, there is just something about a moderately planted tank with giant angelfish in it. But I've got a nice group of breeding acei that I want to keep and a shoal of clown loaches. Just curious if anybody has experience witht his sort of thing.

By clown fish do you mean loachs? If so they will tear up your plants. They get big and stir up the gravel so much you will never keep the plants rooted

yeah thats what I meant lol. I was planning on some big amazon swords or something. maybe I could put them in pots. I'm not planning a lot of plants but like a couple big ones in the corners

My acei do not mess with the plants in their tank. They really don't bother anything. They just kinda keep to themselves. Now if another fish bothers them they will chase it a little but nothing aggressive.

I don't know. Nothing expensive so no altums. This is the stocking list I'm thinking about: Angels, Kribensis, Aceis, Clown Loaches, Cyps, Bloodfin Tetras, and possibly a Gold Severum. The Gold Severum is just because I have one but they may be too aggressive. I might throw a single Discus in there just to try it out.

I can't decide if I should call the tank The Abomination or Ze Experiment

I was thinking of just letting Emma pick them out at HAW. I'd be a little concerned with both the cyps and the platinums not having much color but then again the background is black so maybe it would make them pop.

Whats your recommendation on rocks? I've got the river rocks that were in with my trophs, black star, and white limestone. I'm thinking the river rocks again just because they're nice but I've gotta get that limestone out of the driveway this weekend.
