Every since I first seen a Datnoid I knew it was the type of fish I wanted to keep, I have 10 now. The smallest one is close to 5" and the biggest around 11" My NGT is the smallest, which NGT's have a slower growth rate than other species of Datnoids. I think they watch me alot more than I watch them....LOL Anytime I get close to the tank they will come out of the shadows like they're stalking prey. I love it, it's friggin awesome. I think alot of the reason mine stay so dark is because of the black background, I've been debating on trying something new once I set up the 420. Seeing how it's going in my living room I can't really decide on what other color would suffice.

Let me know when ya"ll are taking this road trip because I need me a red scaley fish as well.
