HELP! what is this?

so yesterday i was setting up my 29g and i was going to place my shrimp on the 10g when i removed the media from the filter on the 3.5g i saw this egg looking things and 1 baby snail inside.

now, on the 3.5 i have Red Cherry Shrimp, 2 Assassin Snails, and the endler famale with endler fy. my shrimps were berried when i got them but no shrimplets to be seen. what are these eggs?

That looks like Assassin snail eggs

will they lay that many at a time? i was told that i could expect to see one new snail a month per female (if i could tell which were females and i cannot lol)

those are not all of them. just the top intake has 15 eggs. you are missing the low intake that has about other 30. i only have 2 Assassins Snails on that tank.

so how long do they take to hatch? what to feed them? as they do not eat my algea wafers nor the algea on the tank.

im not sure what mine are eating other than the occasional MTS and shrimp molts. they do nibble on the tums i put in there. i would think any juvenile food would still be protein based tho.

I don't feed my assassins anything. The original 2 large ones have gone through every single ramshorn and MTS in there! And now they've moved on to grazing and occasionally some cannibalistic activity.

Yes, they can breed very quickly and likely you got a pregnant female from me. Many will hatch and I do nothing other then feed the fish and shrimp as usual. The parents are cannabilistic so the young will often bury in the sustrate and emerge when they are larger, but quite a few become food for their parents. I had slow numbers at first, but once they are established they can breed far quicker then anything I read online. I have a feeling they like our mineral rich water and it speeds their growing and shell development. Rick it looks like you'll be an invert breeder in no time flat!!!!

see but the shrimp did not hatch. i was reading one someones thread that assassin snail do eat shrimplet so maybe they are mine. as since i have low numbers on that department they eat them all. i have only 7 RCS and about 20 endler fry.
