Like you, I hoped to put some bigger fish in mine. You have to account for growth. Also plantings, substrate, filtration etc are important considerations.

learn and prepare correctly your set up, they need special requierements doesn't matter what the lfs guys would (or would not) say.

Discus or angels with tetras....or what I would love to do...A barb only tank. Tinfoil, gold, tigers, ect....lots of color, a whole lot of movement, and not very many poeple have a "barb" tank...
