I havent ever kept Trophs and my next tank will be them as I like their personality. But I enjoy Discus more from what I have seen. I can sit on my couch and just stare endlessly at my Discus. I love watching them glide across. Plus I love the look of a planted tank and tetras schooling. And if you get a nice school of discus it is awesome to watch. I accidently sat for 2 hours staring at my tank. Discus hands down.
i am an all around sa ca cichlid lover, but asfar as overall awesome traits, its definately trophs hands down.
not to say discus arent awesome in there own right, but overall, the funny body shape, cute goofy little faces , managery of colors and patterns, awesome schooling action, and the constant shaking and the occasional throw down, trophs are are the kings!
but as Thai stated, the petros are even more b@d@$$ than the trophs.

Good point Brian.
The breeding process can take days and the male and female will dance for hours at a time. Really nice to see.
And of course the famous tropheus fights! If you got two evenly sized males and decide to change rocks on them then you might see them fight for a whole day.
