So, how are they doing? Still have both batches? Hope everything's well. :)

Well... seems like i'm starting to lose some.
Most of them made it to become free swimmers. I started feeding them vinegar eels, but it seems like some of them just won't eat the eels. About 1/4 of the spawn seem to be eating ok.. and they have nice big bulging bellies, but the rest just won't eat and just seem to waste away...

I tried BBS and they try to bite it, but spit it out again. I think they may still be too small for BBS.

      Anyone has any ideas?

I've had success in the past using that liquid fry food - I think you should be able to find it at any generic pet store. Just use little amounts and do lots of water changes. :)

Disaster... about half of them are dead. The ones that died had tiny bellies and skinny. The ones that live have nice round bellies and are definitely eating something.

I think i'll have to try liquifry and or eggyolk.

            Wish me luck.

hope for the best, but im sure your little guys will give you more eggs soon, so if you have the patience then im sure you will get a good batch sooner or later

good luck, i'm sure it is also somewhat genetics, some might just not be good specimens, in the end if you salvage 25 to 50 percent that is still a good survival rate for such tiny fry and delicate species of fish

I agree... 25% survival rate from day one. About 80% of what is left after 14 days will make it in the long run.

Well.. i have about 35 left. Which i guess is still pretty good. The sudden dieoff was kinda freaky, but thankfully the ones that are alive are actually eating BBS, so that's good.
                        Pic from today.....

Check out this little guy staring down a BBS.

Is that 35 from the both batches or from the first batch? Any idea what is what?

it's 35 from the first batch.
the second batch are still belly sliders.

Well.. both spawns are now eating BBS. The second spawn had significantly less moralities that the first one... so thats good. I've consolidated both spawns into one 2-1/2 gal tank for ease of maintenance and to free up the other tank just in case we get another spawn. So far everything seems to be going well...

Both spawns cohabiting. Seems like they are schoolers....
