Day 4. We got wiggling belly sliders.....
They still have a huge yolk sac and slide around the bottom of the tank on their sides. For some reason, they like to hang out around the silicone corners, which makes it difficult to take pics. I dislodged a few with a pipette to let me take this pic.

They have all fallen off the slate so i took it out and returned it to the main tank. 20 % waterchange to remove some of the Meth Blue.

Next thing you need to look for is free swimming. Ie once they can get off the glass on their own, you need to start your BBS factory. I dont recall how long time it takes for the BBS to be ready, but you want to be able to feed your young around 36-72 hours after they are free swimming..
If you can, feed every 3 hours for as long as the lights are on.
25% daily water changes using an airline at first to vacuum out the "dirt" off the bottom glass, and then refill new water back. Use aquarium water to return to the breeding tank so its aged and very close to the same temp. Then refill the water you took from the main tank. When you do the main tank then dont do a water change on the breeding tank until one day later.

Once you get into the free swimming stage and they are eating, your biggest losses are over with. Expect 80%+ to survive from this point out. KULL any young that you find that looks deformed. They can live for a long time but in the end, they are going to die and its easier to kull them when they are super small, rather once they starting to look like young versions of their parents. This ensures that bad genes are not spread.

Well... the fry look the same... still belly sliding / wiggling... but something else happened this evening. I found out that i have another pair!!

wow, congrats again, awesome video, so now you have two spawning pairs? are both pairs in the same tank? do they have territories? do you have more blue rams?

Yeah.. i have 8 rams in a 20 gal long. I don't think they have territories. I remove the eggs as soon as they are laid and i move stuff around every time i vacuum, so i think it messes up their territories. The males flare at one another, but they don't get too aggressive unless there are eggs around.

Day 9 - Free Swimmers. They're still REALLY REALLY small, comparable to splendens fry. I have a feeling they're not going to be large enough to eat even BBS, so they're getting their first meal of vinegar eels tonight.
