I said nitrItes at 50ppm I ment 5ppm. added ammonia last night, to get it up to 3ppm. ammonia was down to .5ppm this morning. so I added another 12ml to get it up to 4ppm. I think I will wait a couple of days on the fish and see if I can get nitrAtes up to 100ppm. then do the water change and add a few fish.

With ammonia high and nitrites at 50ppm those fish are gonna float as soon as they hit the water.

John, I got hoooked up with the acryllic. I got 3/8 sheets to fit the 3 holes for the 150. The guy cut them to fit and even gave me some scrap pieces. All for $21. That's on heck of a deal.

Your tanks should be ready by the time the fish arrive.

    Tank looked awesome John!

Try squeezing out all of your filter pads from the other tanks into this one... that should get your numbers through the roof!

yup just as I thought nitAtes are at 20ppm. when that number gets to 60-80ppm. and I show no ammonia or nitrItes I will quit adding ammonia and put fish in that night. I think that will be in a couple of days.

jesper my bacteria are hogs and they must be feed. so I just put in another 12ml to get it back up to 3ppm. nitrItes are holding at .5ppm. I think I need that number to go up. maybe I got some nitAtes in there. going to test now.

Okie.. John.. stop with the ammonia !! Your bacteria are doing their job VERY well.. if you are having drops from 3ppm to .5ppm in 4 days.. your bacteria colony has been established and they will be happy for quite a while :)

John, I believe you have enough ammonia in the water already. Remember you have a massive wet/dry that is doing a lot of work and can eliminate a ton of ammonia quickly, I dont think adding more and more ammonia is going to do you anything but just prolong the time before you can add fish to the tank.
