I know what they are...it just came to me....those are those little bubbles that clean your toilet bowl...remember that commercial.....weeeeeeeeeeee....down the drain......

Update....after having the 2 pleco's in the tank for a full 24 hours it seems they have thinned the herd quite a bit. Not only have they cleaned the glass of all algae, but those little bugs numbers have dwindled some much that it's hard to find them now. We'll see what the next 24 hours brings....I do believe that CichlidFan has found the solution.
