Sunken Eye's...

I can offer to try my hand at back seat diagnostician. I would need species affected (any info on tank raised/WC ect.), all water parameters (temp, ph, ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, any other testing you might have done and eliminated as a culprit), known copper/heavy metal treatments? Previously done in the tank? Substrate, hardscape, filtration, anything out of the norm in the tank or about the tank. Normal tap water? Well water? any in house softeners? I have some suspicions, but would really need more info to compose a better hypothesis and possible restorative treatment.

I wish I had something solid to offer, but I don't. I have a few books on fish illness that I will look through today and will post tonight if I find anything.

This is really what it seems. They start getting sunken eye's and they are pretty much dead fish swimming.

I would although like a way to stop it from spreading to the others. But it's almost alone the lines of having to take one to a vet to get necropsy performed.

Sunken eyes is bad news from what I've experienced. None of the fish I got from Africa with the condition survived any treatment. Thankfully, I didn't have any other fish in the QT with them at the same time.

Gobies originally but then spread to Tropheus and now I've lost 2 Julidochromis. All in the same tank.

What kind of fish are they? Are there any other symptoms, or is it only sunken eyes?

Looking for a proper diagnosis of this condition...

It seems to be spreading and I have not found even an ounce of hopeful information on it on the net.

I have read anything from Internal Fungal Infection to parasites to internal bacterial infection with a Whole Slew of Ridiculous comments from those "know it all types"....

Anyone with a shred of experience with this is Greatly desired for info. I've ran into this a few times before last year with absolutely No Cure. If they end up developing this condition they are dead within 24-36 hours...

All parameters and QT tank environment are literally perfect!
