As is the way of keeping recently imported WC fish.
Stressed from collection, sup par conditions at the exporters, importers, and distributors.
Some fish can't recover or never learn to eat b/c they have never seen a flake or pellet.I ate my fish that died.

Yeah, sorry to hear B...but you did everything you could. And you called it, at least she's not unhappy or hurting anymore. Best of luck with the others, I bet they are going to be the healthiest and most spoiled geos in h-town.

Thanks guys. Appreciate the support a lot. The others are acting fine, playing in the sand and digging pits, begging for food and then inhaling their NLS and color bits and the occasional treat of frozen mysis. Today is the first day I've seen absolutely no spots on anyone, so hopefully I'm on my way to curing the ich for good. The weird thing is that they've stayed really dark. Only 1 or 2 of 'em will sometimes lighten up to what their bright happy colors should look like. I don't know if this is from the stress of going through copper safe and ich attack and all that, or if it's from duking out their new territories or what. It doesn't make sense to me that they'd be dark gray, which indicates stress usually, but then be eating and active and happy-appearing. I've had lights out for days just cuz they turn super dark, almost black at times, with the lights on.All bleeding stops eventually...

Not sure what she had. It could have just been a weak immune system to begin with, and then the ich took over, and on top of that she had a distended ovipositor (which shouldn't mean too much in and of itself but it certainly did confuse me as to her diagnosis). She wasn't bloated at all. Before she died, there were no white spots on her so I know I got the ich off, but that and the meds could've just weakened her beyond the point of healing.Originally posted by rmalford View PostDid we ever get a correct diagnosis on the fish? Thanks for the info, b. I might consider it but haven't had this kind of problem before, and the main tank seems to be on its way to cured.Originally posted by barrettsline View PostB do you have a uv sterilizer? If not I think it's time to invest in one.All bleeding stops eventually...

Yeah. They were all eating Tetra ColorBits and NLS. But yeah, I can see that all the other factors probably did contribute.Originally posted by myjohnson View PostAs is the way of keeping recently imported WC fish.
