      • nice! notice a difference in water clarity?

How often do you think you will need to change out the purigen (since you don't regenerate )?

The way the new wet/dry I have on there is set up there's not much room for it, plus I have the Magnum HOT on there to polish the water ever more.

After a few hours it was an incredible difference! The tank has been going though a cloudy stage since I nuked the tank with cyanide. But since then I cleaned everything and haven't stopped feeding my fish, added the MBU and he eats like a mofo and before I added the reactor it was a bit hazy, left the house for like 4-5hrs and came back to a clear tank!

Once the tank settles I imagine it will be like fish floating in air!

I got a liter in there and normally change it out about a month to 2months, I think I can go longer with the reactor since it's more efficient cause I've noticed with the old bagged purigen when I take it out there are clumps of white which haven't exhausted.

            • A reactor is a good idea. I think I may get my 2 little fishies hob reactor back from my step dad (he's not using it) fill it with purigen and hang it on my wet/dry. May even put the return pointing back into the drip tray...

              • That's how I have mine.

The HOT is set up with a spray bar over the drip tray and the reactor feeds into it as well, this keeps my wet/dry filter "alive" while I drain my tank during water changes without drying out the bio-balls, also keeps build up in the sump to a min. I set up all my wet/dry filters with some sort of continuous pump.

                  • i just installed a reactor reactor. i have a couple of the the twolittlefishies units full of purigen floating around inside a 16" piece of pipe which is connected a hurricane that i have trapped inside it via my use of liger magic. now thats balla. seriously tho EK this is pretty cool and the reactors are not as pricey as i expected. almost not worth modding a canister filter.

                    • The TLF are pretty cheap and work great since the design is already there. I was only gonna mod the HOT cause I got it for almost nothing and the water filter housing project was cause I thought they were cheap at the hardware store but once I found the price of them and all what it would take to make it work I went ahead and shelled out the greenbacks for a nice looking rig. also made the decision easy when CityPets had one instock and price competitively.

                        • I only have my phone camera which doesn't show much difference since it's poor quality when it comes to vids.

but I will try and take a vid tonight when the lights come on to see if it shows.

but imagine skim milk vs water.... thats about what mine went through

                          • I might have to steal your idea if I have water clarity issues after setting up my new tank.

                            • I'm exaggerating but it's really hard to catch on camera, the purigen gives the water a whole new clarity to it.

if there's anything I would dump money on it's purigen.
