I have 6M:8F ratio in my tank without any problems. There is a dom male on each end of the tank, and I give each a cave.Originally posted by mredman View PostMine are only three months old so I will find out in a few months....in the event I have more than one male.

They will get territorial, but nothing like AC.Originally posted by mredman View PostAre male BN plecos aggressive toward each other? I used to buy 100 at a time and did not notice any aggression in a bare tank. I have to think different now that I am buying in smaller quantities rather than wholesaling (many years ago).

Bristlenose plecostomus
All fish that we call L144 aren't the fish that originally was called L144. The yellow ones with blue eyes appear to come from a different strain than the original ones. There even is a doubt the original ones are still kept in captivity.Originally posted by troy tucker View PostLooks like every L144 I have ever seen. The pigment could be a little lighter but I have had albinos that look redder. So they can very some. Looks real to me. Also these do not come long finned.
There are also yellow ones with black eyes. Yellow albinos and whitish albinos (both with red eyes).Last edited by DoubleDutch; 12-15-2015, 12:34 PM.

There are 2 guys here that are trying to breed them. myjohnson, and nacra99. not much from either on how they are doing.Originally posted by mredman View PostIt seems like I read about someone on this site that took five years to get the L046 to breed in his tanks. I have not heard any more about rearing the young. Has anyone else?

Correct. Btw : it seems to be a different strain than the real L144. So in fact they are "false" L144. Beautiful nevertheless
