I drop shrimp pellets but they haven't shown any interest so far. Tonight I will drop the algae wafers. The BN have not yet shown an interest in blanched vegetables.

DoubleDutch, why do you only keep females?

I am keeping females only !!! Be aware they are omnivores and need some protein now and then as well (bloodworms, brineshrimp, aso).
Put in some raw cumcumber or zuchini Mike). They'll soon be on it !!

I've never seen them at LFS either. I also have some super red that I try to breed.

I will put out a wafer tonight. However, I already have a healthy fresh algae population so I do not know if they will respond.

My tank got algae too, but I still feed them everyday with algae wafer.

They will come out for an algae wafer..any time.

My BN are quite elusive due to heavy plant cover and wood. I have three but have never seen three at one time. I will try to get photos. The angelfish are always in the open. They hope to be fed every time they see me.

My young BN plecos are about three months old and are not showing in signs of sex differentiation. They are approaching three inches in length.

Because I had no CO2 for the first three months since setting up, I was able to learn first-hand about most species of algae. The BN plecos and otocinclus are very happy. I have tried feeding blanched vegetables to the plecos but they prefer the algae. It is the serpae tetras that love the blanched vegetables and sometimes the corydoras species.

However, my algae population is diminishing and I expect the plecos to soon show an interest in supplemental vegetable feeding.
