The males have grown long trailers. I can't take good videos because the benthos don't like the light. You'll see what happens when it gets too bright at the end of the video.

After watching the females swallow over and over again... I got in on Cesar's group order for egg tumblers. I have one holding right now (and for the last week). If she if still holding this weekend, I'll strip her.

Interesting thing to make a note of: The Benthochromis don't seem to want to spawn until 5-7 days AFTER a water change. I generally only notice spawning when I miss a water change. Right now I have 3 female tricoti holding. They always swallow before it is time for them to spit the fry. I REALLY don't want to use an egg tumbler, but it looks like I won't have much of an option.
Any thoughts?


Another interesting sidenote: I have several large open areas for spawning... but the only areas ever used are small ones in the corners of the tank. I can't seem to figure this one out either.
