You try shooting with a tripod?

Tripods get in the way and don't let you have a instant range of motion. If I'm taking a static shot. Of something. I'd breakout the tripod but for fish there is too much of me moving around.

10-4 glass is where it's at. Just remember why it cost so much. It's becouse it's worth it.

I just bought a f1.8 50mm and already wish I'd gone ahead and spent the cash on the f1.2. Mainly for the build quality. Not that the f1.8 dosent take incrediable pictures, it's just the auto focus is loud an slow. So I have to do it myself. Which is hard when taking pictures free hand. And no IS (or for you nikon fans VR) that's the worst. Always pay for IS it's worth it.

i dont even have anything capable of watching 1080 vids on and i was already spending more than i had originally planned. im sure i will be more than happy with the T1i.

But it's not like the are going to stop making 1080p tv's and since your already waisting your money on a new T1i why not pay the extra $100 so when you do get a 1080 tv or you take it to someones who has 1080 you already have it.

If you know how to use your T1i, you will punk a noob with a 50d....I'll put cash on that everyday of the week.

Dosent that go for anything. If you know how uses your you'll be better than someone who dosent. That's like saying that you can punk a kid in a viper in your smart car becouse you know how to drive and he dosnt Insted of making fun of him how about teaching him how to drive then see if you can still punk him.

I think the t1i is a great camera. But it's not the same as a 50d. That being said a noob w/50d will crank out the same pictures as a noob w/t1i. But a pro w/50d will have better pictures than a pro w/t1i

Bodies depreciate in value....no matter which one you get.

a little late, but thanks. i was comparing price points and the xsi and d5000 are closer to what i wanted to spend. i ended up ordering the T1i and should be here later this week.

should have gone w/ at2i for $100 more you get true 1080p recording. also i bought a slightly used 50d for less than a new t1i and i havent looked back. i don't need the video. i have a nice hd camcorder.

semper just won the POTM with a canon XS. if you got a 50d you've got no excuses.
