funny though, this thread and the recent comments had me thinking about what I have lost and most could have been saved but to me the cost of meds vs. replacing the fish wasn't worth it. Also I don't recall losing many trophs or petros, more of the other fish than anything but like you pointed out they weren't viewed as a loss to me so they were tossed out and not accounted for.

Yeah man, but this happened to the fry I grew for, what, 18+ months(?). So it wasn't something I could discount.

different folks handle it differently.

even fish that I have had for a long time or spent a ton of money on I still look at it the same way.... would it cost more to TRY and save it, would it be in the best interest of the other tankmates to dispose of or again, could it be replaced for the same or less.

True, but for me, it was a challenge as well, to see if I could fix this problem. In a way as a preparation for more awesome fish to come
