            • Ok lets work on setting a date for this.

We will leave on a Saturday morning at 7:30am from Aquarium World Parking lot, Dig rocks at my Aunt's home, and leave there at or before 5pm. For those that are not wanting to camp at Lake Buchanan you will head back to Houston. For those wanting to camp, we will camp over night at Lake Buchanan, and leave mid-day Sunday (3-6pm) back to Houston.

              So Dates:

              May 1st "Tropheus Tank Tour"

              May 8th "Jespers Tank-Rebuild"

May 15th "GHAC Montly Party-Third Saturday of the Month"

May 22nd - "GHAC - MOODY GARDENS AQUARIUM TOUR"

              May 29th "Memorial Day weekend"

I am a committed host to the tank tour and will not miss that. I am also committed to Moody Gardens Tour. I am good with Memorial Day weekend, but I know many of you got other plans that weekend, plus the lake will be crowded like a MOFO.

So for me it has to be the 8th or 15th..

              • Even though it has not posted as a Calender Event, it looks like the GHAC Moody Gardens Aquarium Tour is the 22nd.

So...the whole month of May is pretty much booked.

                • lets do it the 8th or the 15th. Lets all push for Jesper to step up his date. even if it has to be during the week at night time. The 8th works.

                      • Geoff,
Do you do any rock digs in the fall? I am orchestrating a plan to get my arse out there and get some decent sized holey rock for my tanks. My vacation time falls in Late September. My busy time of year comes about 2 weeks before Thanksgiving. So, any chance of something in October? What kind of rocks do you mine on these digs? Is there a limit? What are the rules?
I'm sure you've gone over this a million times, but could you please make it a million and one? Maybe with that much notice, Chad and some other ausslanders could swing a journey to fair Texas?

                        • The only rules are:

                          1. Each person on the dig must supply my Aunt with 1-12pk of Coca-Cola Classic in cans
                          2. Each person on the dig has to be minimally a active forum member, or a guest per member of the Tropheus Club, or GHAC. Kids 12& under do not count
                          3. Absolutely none of the rock aquired on this dig is to ever be sold. You can trade it for other fish stuff, but you cannot profit from it with money, or I'll basically blow a gasket and become the number-1 ahole in your life.
                          4. There is no limit to how many rocks you want to take

On the past digs people have found lots and lots of limestone in all shapes and sizes, petrified wood small pieces, driftwood, and cactus of all sizes. Some people did collect cactus that went. I am sure there is other rock to be had out there, but most people find what they want. Small pieces, large pieces, lots of holes, no holes, etc...

We will have a dig sometime before November 1st, which is the start of Deer Season, and they do not want us there during those times.

If you can make it, it would be awesome!!

                          • Ok.
                            Something to plan for!
Thank you very much. When I lived in Austin, a good friend of mine and I went out by the Pedernalas River and looked for holey rock/cool rocks and got shot at by some ranch hands....with rock salt....BUT STILL!!!! Needless to say, we didn't go back out to do that.

                            • That would pretty much happen to us too, in the months of November thru January 1st.

They are concerned about our safety, and they do not want us scaring off or marking trails during Deer Season.

                              • Count me in on the next trip. The time frame isnt important to me. Could be tomorrow or in three months. If the heat becomes a problem everyone should remember where we live. There are probaly millions of illegal maxicans that will day labor for $5 hr. lol. Just need to set camp and let them bring you rocks to approve of. Ok, maybe thats not a good idead but still count me in for the trip.
