Test strips not too accurate from what I have read. Try putting some pH buffer because it seems low.

I know these fish are important to you and desperate times call for desperate measures but please dont start doing a bunch of crazy chemical experiments on these guys. We live right down the street from each other, we have the exact same water, we both have Tanganyikan fish....we've never had to add buffers to our water before. Medicate the fish like Geoff said and get them to start eating. I think that's your best bet. If you go off and start adding other variables, you may never find the source of the problem. Good luck man. I'll most likely come by tonight and help you get stuff sorted out.If it ain't wild caught
You ain't doing it right

just home from work...the ones that were looking sick...are now dead. gonna dose again tonight with CLOUT and just hope it was the medicine that got to the weak fish and the rest will do fine??? gonna get some seaweed tonight at the petstore and see if this changes anything. Gonna get some fresh algae from John this weekend and try and get these guys on some sort of system. wish me luck.250gallon-Wild Angels, community

Man...Randall....I'm sorry you're having such bad luck with these guys. I wish I had some Petro knowledge..but unfortunately I don't. I've only owned one WC Petro Moshi and he ate 3mm NLS Thera +A like there was no tomorrow. Again.....I'm sorry to hear this and I hope you can get a handle on this.

just fed them some dryed seaweed from petco and they ate it... too many of them to see if they ALL are eating. I saw a few bite it and spit but they eventually ate it all. John...Sunday bring that algae to Geoff and I will get it from him when i get off work. thanks.250gallon-Wild Angels, community

Hang in there bro, the algea screens should help them with the transition. I would think increasing the ph could help though. I know it has worked as is before but depending on how long these guys have been out of lake they may be more sensitive than fish that have been in the States a while.120g - Tropheus Moorii Kambwimba

dont mess with more chemicals.
Besides, you'd have to adjust the pH too slowly to take care of your immediate problem. Do it too fast and you risk killing them or causing them more stress. Anything you can do to maintain a low stress level will ultimately grant you more time to treat them and get them eating.
