Re: Monthly Tropheus Fry List
I can't say for sure, due to all the hiding places they have, but I figure there might be about 15 to 18 fry now in my Red Chimba tank at work. I won't be selling them any time soon, as some of them are still fairly small (@ 1/2 an inch).
I've promised Fishlady enough to start her own colony when she has the space available, but until then, I'll keep the rest of you up to date on them.

I got 43 Mpimbwe for sale at $8 each.
Right now my Ikola I have 4 females holding, but my tank is stripped and they have no where to spit babies. I typicall have about a Dozen or so Fry every month.

Hey Geoff.....So how many Mpimbwe's did you end up with? Also how often do the Ikola's breed?

Re: Monthly Tropheus Fry List
The wild fish order is a lifetime chance that I think you should take because never again more than likely will this chance come again.
My F1's are true F1 high quality fish. Only my Runtunga and Duboisi are classified as tankraised, because my adults producing fry are mixed F0's and F1's that I cannot determine for 100% sure if a wild female got with a wild male or not. so fry from them I just call tankraised.

Re: Monthly Tropheus Fry List
Thanks Geoff. I really need to decide whether I want to get WC or try F1's first. Its such a tough decision with this import buy since I maynot get a chance like this again.

Re: Monthly Tropheus Fry List
I had one that was still very small with egg sack and they ate him.
The rest are doing really well, and I still have 4 females with fry in their mouth that I want to give a couple weeks for developing before Raul and I go again to strip more.
I have always been a person who did not like stripping, but I wanted to try it this time because a number of people are looking for fry.
The Red Cheek Mpimbwe are some really nice fish. They have red/orange cheeks. The females mostly keep a brown and yellow baring with some blue in the Dorsal. The males will turn a solid forrest green/black body color with a deep royal blue like colored dorsal. All the fish have baby blue eyes.
All of my Tropheus fry I sell at $8 ea.
