  • Extended Tropheus Fights

I have two very beat up Chilambo males
They lip locked each other for over 3 hours. It started when I did the water change and they continued for over three hours. I know it lasted this long because I noticed what time it was when the whole thing started and when they at last moved apart. They the males that have the same side of the 180 same rock group, one on one side and the other on the other side.
They are back to the place where they where and I dont think rank changed, but this is the longest and most beat up I have seen both of them.
White lips, bites to the face and sides of both males.
I will post pictures soon, including what has to be about 20+ fry in my tank.
2 more females are still holding so I believe I will see more fry pretty soon. God I love my Chilambo's. These are for sure pure F1.. it will be a few more months before I can take them out and get everyone out. I have to reset the tank to get them all. I hope none of the fry went into the sump because if they are there they will see no light for at last a month or two. :(

Forgot to ask.. how long of a fight have you seen two males going after each other, my two males are basically exactly the same size, and they are the biggest ones too.

I really dont let mine fight. I really never have problems with my trophs...but the petros...when they start up, I tap the glass or turn the lights off on them so that they leave each other alone. Cant afford to let them get hurt over something stupid.

my big male dubs used to go at it hard like that, i think the longest i saw them fight was like 2 hours non stop.

they were so evenly matched it wasnt really anything more then a pissing cotest, knowones rank ever changed, i think they just enjoyed a good fight, lol

Not how it works....if you been kept tropheus long enough to notice.

More like one family having a fight over who is the head of house hold.
