  • Food Change - NLS or Veggie Deluxe

I need some advice about feeding my new colony of Tropheus. They have been eating a combo. of NLS and Dainichi Veggie. Should I stick with this combo or feed straight Veggie Deluxe. I have herd of some people having trouble with bloat feeding NLS. What do ya'll think. Any advice you give will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Mike in Beaumont

I fed my colony exactly the same thing the previous owner was feeding them.....I never lost any of my trophs, until I started changing up their diet and or water change schedule.

I'd stick to what they have been eating....unless they show signs of distress??? See what others have to say too....

I have never had an issue with feeding NLS. I have been feeding the same exact combo as you for well over a year now without a single issue.

          Mike,

If your new colony was already established and eating a combination of Veggie Deluxe and New Life Spectrum (NLS) I would stay with that. It is always better to do that in my opinion.

I have read more bloat stories from messing around with their food, than I have read on NLS alone.

The key with any pellet food is not to over feed them and please please keep their water clean. That's the key.

Thanks Guys. I just needed some reinforcement, I am not going to change anything. My water quality will not be an issue. More questions to follow.....

I've fed a lot of different things to my tropheus before.

I think it's more important to feed them high quality food and whenever you switch do it slowly over the course of 2-4 weeks.
