Seeking input on petro articles

awesome info mj,i forgot to mention i have a group of ten wc perto kasumbe's coming this week 2m/8f,for the 110,shoulda got two boxes i guess lol,maybe ill find another variant to go with also,although it being a 6ftx19inx19in tank maybe that number might work,well see,tanks pushin 1000 gph filtratrion and two modded 900 maxijets,so im hoping that will help,had to give it a go,sold my wild kachese group and im getting bored........lol

i successfully bred the kasumbe,but my alpha went haywire and killed them all...only ones left are my alpha and 9 4-5 inch juvies!

Im not so sure I like all of this guys method...maybe in his 240gallon he should add more current to the water(Koralia 3 just isnt enough), and maybe add some tropheus as dithers instead of taking a big punch in the wallet by purchasing like 15 petros like he proposed...just my opinion. I like his insight on LINE OF SIGHT issues. I have noticed SMALL amounts of chasing like he said, where the dominant male will charge a fish on the other side of the tank but not the one right next to him. However, I dont think I will be adding no ugly fake plants! Instead I think the chase ends in my tank due to the really high amount of flow at the ends of the tank. The one thing I will consider if I ever go "all petros" in this tank, willl be to add more "caves" that the petros can fit under and around. With such large fish...you really got to be purposely adding caves and stuff in order for them to move in and out of them with ease....not always the best looking aquascape either.

exactaly what i was thinking,though right away about a dither troph group to add,with you on the fake plants,ill have to go find some "real" large plants this week end only thing i have in there curently is crinum,pervious trophs seem to leave them alone,only plant that has stood up to them......

Do you guys think for Petrochromis Macrognathus that 25ish would be a good fit? He states that in a 240gallon a successful stock is 28...so in a 210 around 22-25? I have been pondering doing a petro only tank...like moving my Tropheus Chimba to a different tank and growing my stock of Macros, but how many is too many?

it does make you wonder if its the size of the tank or how many you put in the tank.
i think doing an experiment of some kind would be great for all petro keepers!
