  • Tropheus Nkonde - Who all has them locally?

I'm not ready to start a new troph tank yet, but I've been getting interested in Nkondes lately. In the African cich. forum, Myjohnson replied to e
    Eartheater:
    2) Nkonde: Pro, looks really good and I think matches the looks of the ilangi. Con: everyone and their mom has them.

Just out of curiosity, who's got 'em? I haven't seen them in the stores. Are they hard to get? Is anybody that has them able to breed them? From what I've seen online, I think they match the looks of the ilangi too, but without the stripes.

I know that Traci, and Alfonso have colonies. I also believe Semper does as well or atleast has some for sale in the market Section.

Those are the only three people I know with colonies. I'm not a fan of them personally, but they do have a cool color combination to them. I think they are one of those variants where lighting, rock, and substrate really can make a difference in the colors they show.

He's not asking who has them 'for sale'...just who has them.

Yeah, I did miss the for sale thread the 1st time I looked. I'm on call this week and my time's kind of limited with strange working hours (for ex., it's almost 3:00AM now, and I just got home a little bit ago). And no, I'm not ready to pull the trigger yet. I'd like to, but it's going to be a little while yet. Very soon I'm going to post some new world cichlids for sale. I have a pair of Uaru wanting to breed, and the others need to go. After I give them a chance to do what they want to do, I may get rid of them and convert that tank to a troph tank. I'm also overloaded on Moop juvies, which are going up for sale too. These two tanks are about all I have time for. Semper, keep me in mind, and in the future I'll let you know if I decide to start a Nkonde colony.

+1, the more "colorful" the more light, rocks, sand, etc matter to bring out the colors.
