'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'

          Howdy,

There will be a mini auction at the meeting so post here what you have on your wish list and we will do our best to bring it.  Next week Mark and I will post some of our auction items.  I will contact Goliad Farms and see if they can make it and bring some mollies, swordtails and platies.

Anybody can buy at the meeting but believe you have to be a HLA member to sell items at these HLA meetings and a small % goes back to the HLA club.  You may bring auction item donations where all the money goes to HLA or ALA.  Mostly livebearers and a few important fish hobby items.  later, ken/mark

                    Howdy,

I talked with Charles at Goliad and he said they will plan to attend the HLA meeting next week.  Let me know buy next Tuesday what you would like them to bring and they will bring what they can for the auction.  Pick from the livebearers kensteblein@aol.com http://www.goliadfarms.com/pages/products/fish/main.htm

Goliad usually bags the fish in pairs and keep in mind they might only bring one bag of each type.  Soooo if you really want those fish you better bid on them.

Mz, if you are going to be at the HLA meeting I have some plants not doing well that probably need some co2, we will bring them for you.  Would like another piece of that fern I bought from you if you can spare some.
We have enough of the thread algae; dang, I just got it cleared out of one tank; the albino plecos and swordtails cleaned it off the glass.  later, ken/mark

                        Re: HLA meeting 09/29/07

                        Good morning,

Yes, you can join HLA at the meeting, $10 for a single and $15 for a family.  Membership is good for a year, and gives you a free bidder card at HLA's bigger auctions.

The Super Coooool  8)  Fish Ranch II store manager has offered 10% discount to all who attend the HLA meeting in the morning.  THANKS!!!

If people will bid on them we will bring a couple really-really nice pieces of native drift wood, daphnia culture, and aquatic plants that do not need CO2 and grow well under regular medium lighting.

Free light refreshments will be there and don't want to run out; correct me if I am wrong but it is sounding like there might be 20-30 people.

EK, I am going to send you a PM.  later, ken/mark

Ken - Sure, I'd love the plants! Thanks! And I'll bring you a few pieces of the fern, as well.

                          10% discount sounds great!

I'm anxious to see what types of plants you guys are bringing that will work in low lights and no CO2.  I have been pondering trying my hand at another planted tank but really don't want to mess with the whole CO2 set up at this point because I'm limited on space.

Most will probably be ferns, anachris, wisteria, moss, anubias, najas, and the like....
