    hat in the ring

    I plan on being active in the HLA and would consider it an honor to serve on the board.   I would prefer to serve as treasurer unless someone else would like to fill the position, if so, I will be happy to fill any position.

    I am currently treasurer of the bettahabari (past president) and a member of HAS (past board member), webmaster for two sites (bettahabari.org & baker.ws) and on the editoral staff of "the Flare" the bi-monthly publication of the International Betta Society.  I also have been a member of the Mobile Aquarium society and President of the Pensacola Aquarium society.

    Somewhere here on the board is a list of my acomplishment breeding and caring for Tropical fish.  My main interest at this time is breeding and showing Bettas, but I have always loved livebearors.

    He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

      Good evening,

      As I stated on the other HFB page, I Ken Steblein am interested in running for Vice President on the board.  I am currently on a couple boards but non of them are related to fish.  It would be good if HLA could reach out to the youth in the community and have educational programs at the meetings.  I do have 2 of my three sons interested in being HLA youth members.  later, ken

        Why don't you guys create some topics HLA elections - yyyyyyyy so I can vote:

        Any real HLA member 18 years old or older may nominate themselves for yyyyyyyyyyy of HLA in the next 30 days and run. The age requirement is necessary for the club to get non profit status. Any real person may join the HLA and vote for yyyyyyyyy in the next 30 days. To nominate or vote in this topic post and follow this pattern: ( I am nominating and voting by the way. )
