  • business meeting

Some of you do not enjoy business meetings ( aaaarrrrg! ) so I want to seperate business and social meetings to make social meetings as much fun as possible. If possible I would like to conduct our business meeting here online in the open where everyone can have their say. Basically I want to build the club "on the cheap" and not require any dues or fees. I am open to raising money with donations or an auction but I would like to limit the commission to 10% and reward auction volunteers by making their sales exempt. I would like to see an accounting of how the clubs money is acquired and spent here. It would be fun at first to award certificates or club made trophies to the buyer and seller of high dollar fish at the auction. I am somewhat open to the idea of elections but we need to decide who can vote, what offices to have, when to hold elections and so forth. If you would like to be elected king of the club I just built and charge big fees and make a business out of it please post here lol.

I can hook you up with info on forming a non-profit corporation in Texas and a copy of the HAS constitution for a "go-by" if you would like.  You can pay the fees and do it yourself or you can have it done for 100usd.

I keep the BettaHabari membership, treasury reports, approved budget and such on an excell spredsheet and it is available on line to board members only. (Excell will convert automatically to web pages)
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

I sure would like to be a non-profit and have a constitution to keep us out of trouble. Do what you can without spending money untill we get more feedback. Does any object to being a non-profit and/or adopting a constitution?
