Would it be good to have a livebearers club in Houston? What would you think about having free membership? What would you think about having auctions with a 10% commission? What would you think about awarding certificates to buyers and sellers of high dollar fish in different categories? What do you think about posting an accounting of how our money is spent on this website? How often should elections be held and who should be allowed to vote? What do you think about organizing it right here right now?

Ever been to or worken in a Guppy show ??
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

No. They have judges that award prizes based on points. They have qualities they look for and award points based on those qualities.

I went to a hog show and the judges did something like that. Then they sold the pigs and the audience voted with their dollars. I thought the dollar vote was more fair and the best judge of the best hog.

It might be possible for someone to buy a certificate by bidding on their own fish directly or indirectly. The rules and the commission would have to address that issue.

Until judges are trained and we agree on the qualities it is not possible to do it the IFGA way. I am not sure it will ever be best to do it the IFGA way but the club would decide eventually not me.

The first ever social meeting of the HLA is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April 15 at 7:00 pm. Prosper DeBee has invited us to meet at Aqua Zoo on a regular basis which is on Highway 3 near El Dorado. Please bring a few fish and some fish stories and we will trade.

i want to be there,i dont know anything about quality guppies but iam eager to know or to belong to any club w membership 0.
i think its a really good idea.
besides that ther is still much to do if we want quality guppies to reach houston.

Max, I didn't get a chance to show you but in the center tank with all the java moss, swordtails and platties,  there were half a dozen young goodeid hiding.

Does that qualify me as a livebearor keeper ?

                      Ken,

Now that the HLA is a club with three members and all could we be listed at the bottom with the SOUTHEAST TEXAS AQUARIST CLUBS. May I be the moderator?

                        Good evening,

Max, we have been reading about your idea for HLA and you can count us in which will put your membership up to 5.  We were by Prospers place last night and he mentioned that you were talking and planning to set up a meeting.  Glad things will work out and Aqua Zoo is a reasonable drive for us to make in an eveing.  I also like the idea of bringing fish to swap.
