    Re: Summer Auction.

I had a blast, even though Prosper worked me to near death :!:  :bsjoke:
I mostly stocked up on food, got a NICE piece of driftwood, black khuli loaches, cherry shrimp, pictus catfish, chemicals, and a powerhead.
I kept my promise, to everyone's amazement,  and I did NOT bid on a single BN pleco, albino, long fin, or otherwise.
Running was fun, though I felt like I lost a few from it, not a bad thing. Nice to see everyone there.

      Re: Summer Auction.

I got a light, a pair of Plakats, a bunch of Java moss, a Java fern, almond leaves, a few bags of Dainichi, a nice pair of Lithobates, microworms, and a group of Petricola.
So many things can be a mystery, when all we're seeking is freedom...

I bought a hunk of rock.  Ate a juicy steak and drank a beer or two. Then had to leave unexpectedly.

I want to thank you for the beer.
Too bad you had to leave so soon.

Great pics, guys! I think a few of us got worked nigh unto death, Nick. Thanks to all the "volunteers"! Susan & Charles did a fantastic job with the auctioneering - kept things movely along very smoothly. The auction lasted til 8, I believe. Second longest I can remember. LOTS of items - LOTS of great folks. Really liked the variety of items-lots of tanks and stands, plants, food, decorations, and, of course, fish. Good homes for all our fish. Good night, or morning. Glad I'm taking tomorrow off.

Got there at the start...needed to be home by 3 (learning to play golf!). Moved up what I wanted to bid on and won:
Killer German Red Peacock (thanks FishRanch)
                    3 Demasoni from Fish Ranch
Two beautiful pairs of Lemon Jakes (one is Undu Reef)
                    Group of 5 Synodontis Petricola
HUGE piece of driftwood - I guess I'll have to rescape soon
It was nice to see everyone!
                    215g Malawi Peacocks and Mbuna
180g Tropheus Ikola and Bemba and Clown Loaches

                      Re: Summer Auction.

It was really nice to meet everyone. It was my first auction. I never knew how much work and coordination goes into one. I took home some nice julies, albino bristle nose and albino cories. Bought a crenicichla by mistake, thinking Charles said crenicara. Resold it at a slight loss...oh well, don't need nor want a pike. LOL Sold a bunch of plants.

                        Re: Summer Auction.

I was there and brought my mother, a friend and a friend of my mothers. We all had a great time! The steaks were the best. I got to meet a few people from HFB, sorry I didn't get to meet the rest of you that was there. I brought home 6 peppered cory's, a nice piece of driftwod, a couple of plants and my Male Empress (thanks Superdave). I think my tank is complete now. The auction was great. I tried and tried to get more plants but I kept getting outbid. :(  But that's ok I still had fun and just kept bidding until I got something.  We left when they were still on the second table. It's a long drive back to Beaumont. Wish I could have stayed longer. I even brought my camera but forgot to take pictures.  Too much excitement.

                          Howdy,

GREAT auction!  Thank you all the volunteers that helped; there were the regular volunteers and many new volunteers that helped keep the auction moving.  Charles & Susan, thank you for being the auctioneers!

:P Any one need some angel fish...I ended up buying some reallllllly nice angels!

I had planned to stay until the end but my wife got home a day early from her trip... wanted to suprise me and I was not there!   I had to sneek the fish in after dark and put them in the fish tanks in our sons room.  Will have to admire the angels when I get home from work today.

                          Later, ken

                            Re: Summer Auction.

I got (3) regular bristtlenose plecos, (1) saw cut flat bottom piece of Holey rock that Juan and Heather stayed to get for me...

I lost the war to get the huge piece, I almost thought I would just keep bidding to see who wanted it more...I talked to him in the parking lot he said he would have gone over $100 for it.

That piece was atleast 75 lbs.  It was nice.

I had to cut off at $50

Great Steaks as always, and really glad this time they had...

I picked up a few nice fish. A Goldhead, a bag of Leulepi, and some of those Juli Marilis. I had 55 waiting for them this time! Great time was had but I was of limited funds so I had to leave early.

I saw all those great plants you brought, but sadly, none came home with me.  Oh well, next auction...
