FYI....on the Thursday before FOTAS (Sept. 13) I plan to hit a bunch of the Houston LFS. There may be more Louisiana people with me as well. The folks in Houston are welcome to go as well. My tentative plan is to start in the Southeast area and hit Aquazoo and Charles' warehouse if it is open. I will then make my way to the west side and hit fish ranch, fish land, extreme, HAW, fish and pets unlimited, and fish gallery. I will spend the night in that area, then on Sunday drive to Dallas for FOTAS. On the way there, I plan to stop at ultimate fish and fish r us.

Let me know if you are interested in meeting up.

We will probably go to a restaurant for dinner on Thursday. I can tell you the last time I did this with a group of people, it was a blast.

I am giving very serious thought to doing a new SELAS shirt order. That is really our main fund raiser. We are about to switch our forum software from free stuff to vbulletin (what this site is); however, that is going to cost $$$.

And how do I owe you a shirt? You were not getting all wet moving furniture this weekend!

So you're going from phpBB (free) to vBulletin? That's a serious upgrade with a lot of added features built in without having to customize a bunch of code in phpBB. Awesome.

Yeah. People want to be able to upload pictures on posts, and just have more options. I am expecting it to run about $500-$600 total, but through donations at our last meeting, we made $222 towards it. My main drawback from doing it is I am afraid I will lose stuff on the site. I plan to probably contract the job out to India.

The Babes in the
Cichlid Hobby is an organization that besides having a whimsical name also
raises money for conservation organizations, including the Stuart Grant
Conservation Fund. Every year at the American Cichlid Association convention
they have auction with Caroline Estes as auctioneer. When the Federation of
Texas Aquarium Societies Convention is hosted by a Cichlid club, they will have
a silent auction on Saturday of Aquarium Books and club t-shirts. See below for
a list of books I will be donating.
