Well...then the answer is a qualified maybe....points are also given on size and it would also depend on what it is competing against within the class...but give it a shot. We're also having a dedicated angelfish speaker - Charles Hawks

Woohoo, the date is getting closer and closer. My spare room in rapidly filling up with donations for the live and silent auctions. What a great variety of donations from the vendors . We have not only an abundance of fresh water aquarium items coming in, but great stuff for you saltwater enthusiasts, pond keepers and even the turtle lovers and we still have a week to go

I've been a member of this forum for only a relatively short time and am not yet a member of any of the aquarium clubs nor have I registered for the convention. Can I still attend and bid at the auction?

You can pay the membership fee to become a member at the auction, or you can pay $5.00 for a bidder card. :)
What fishboyt said :) . Membership in the Houston Aquarium Society is $15 a year for a family and as a member, you get a bidder card on the three auctions we have a year as part of your membership. Or, fishboyt said, you can just pay the $5 for a bidder's card if you chose. There isn't a fee to just attend the auction, only if you want to bid.

I'm planning on having my dad bring me as part of my birthday present, I'm dieing to see the auction, and have a nice new empty tank. :)
My question is this:
How long will the auction be? Like whats a rough estimate on how long the silent auctions are open for? The live auctions? I want to have a good idea on how long to be there.
Also, is there an age limit to register to bid? I'll be 16, but I just want to make sure, in case my dad has to do the bidding for me.
Currently fishless, but a proud mama to a musk turtle hatchling.
you can bid.length of auction depends on how many items are brought.usually around 6 hours.silent auction split into groups, usually an hour per group.make sure you have some clear tank space and bring your birthday money
