Auction is getting closer. We hope to see many familiar faces as well as unfamiliar. The last one was alot of fun and we hope you join us on Saturday, May 23rd.

What does GHAC do with the all the money made at these auctions?

I'm glad you asked, Glen. The GHAC used the money made at the auction to recoup the costs for preparing for the auction (location, supplies, etc...) and to pay for some of the food/drinks at the GHAC meetings. Some of the money has been used to file paperwork assoiated with the GHAC being a "not-for-profit" organization.

Keep in mind that the GHAC only gets 10% of the auction price, with a few notable exceptions that donate the proceeds. The individual (or group) that auctions off the items keeps 90%. By the time that costs are all paid for, we're not talking about alot of money.

The main purpose behind the GHAC auction is the same as any other GHAC event: TO HAVE FUN!

I'll be helping John bag up all of his "pond fish". For those that don't know, these are various malawi and african cichlids along with some barbs. Maybe some other stuff too ... who knows. If someone wants to help me bag all of the fish up early in the morning (the day of the auction) let me know.

John has indicated that he wants the proceeds from his fish to be split between the GHAC and HFB.
