Origin:
Longola, Congo, Africa. Place of origin is disputed but most think it's a few miles South of Moba. Drivers report seeing them in waters off the city Lunangwa which is between Kamakonde Lupota.

Diet:Herbivore
Additional Diet Information:They graze on loose aufwuchs which is diatomous unicellular algae. This algae has microorganisms, insect nymphs and larvae, crustaceans, mites, snails and zooplankton which the petros live on.
Gender Difference:Monomorphic
The male has a nice deep blue as a backgrown color to their body. The back part of the dorsal fin and tail fin is a deep rose red. Females are less colorful. Most are seen with some blue but are most grey with darker bar markings. Some red may also be found on the dorsal and tail fin but not was bright red like the males.
Breeding:Maternal Mouthbrooder
Highly aggressive fish. Best chances for breeding is to raise them small and allow them to tolerate each other. Males can kill off females within hours.
