Differences between male and female:The female has a black line at the edges of both, anal and dorsal fin. Conversely, the male exhibits bright yellow edges. Both sexes have a black spot at the base of the caudal fin. Even though both have yellow bellies, the female shows off stronger yellow, especially in breeding condition. The most notable difference is the shape of their heads. The female has a more pointed head, while the male has a rounder, hump-head and a much stronger jaw.
