Also, the Red Devils all hunted down a tadpole I threw in there. It was scary watching it get walked all over by them.

Pretty active during the morning to afternoon, only 1 dead Vampire. They seem to be enjoying the waterfall I set up. They also like the body size holes to hide in.

Well 48 hours I have aready killed one. it was never as active as the other. I think the temp. dropped to much over night. the other was under the moss and looks fine.

The crabs are omniverous. They've done studies on stomachs of these crabs and found large amounts of plant matter and moss so you'll want to vary their diet (They will also eat TetraVeggie Algae Wafers). I probably should have fed my orginal group of vampires and red devils a larger portion of this. Some keepers in europe will dust their food with calcium, which I've not done in the past. I'll probably pickup some calcium dust and do so.

They will eat most freeze dried foods. Freeze dried blood worms and mysis will work. They will also hunt down pin head crickets and wingless fruit flies. Just be careful with crickets because if they don't get eaten they will grow and can kill your vampire and red devil crabs. Donot leave the food more than a day they will get sick and die. Replace the food daily. They tend to eat when no one is watching. Red Devils, I kept were much more active than the Vampires during day, Vampires tend to be more active at dusk ). Hope this helps.
Humidity must be kept high. They also do not do well with temp. drops.
