  • 30G Oceanic for Sale (With Pics)

I bought this Oceanic tank, stand, and light last week; put water in it and really don't like it the more I look at it.  The finish is just too light for where I have it in my apartment.  The dimensions are 36x12x16 or somewhere close to that.  It's the older style Oceanic gray granite looking finish with matching stand and light fixture.  It is missing the lids and that's it.  Going to finish cleaning it up from the previous owner tonight.  The stand is worn and has some random paint marks on it from some sloppy roller work but it's functional and sturdy.  This would be a great tank if someone wanted to put a little work into the stand and possibly repaint it.  I don't have the space or the time since I'm on the third floor of my apartment complex.

Asking $75 or will trade for a 40 breeder with lid in either black or brown.

Will post pics tonight when I get home.

The tank has been running now for about two weeks with no fish in it.  I keep getting screwy readings from my testing.  Nitrates are higher than anything that I have ever seen so I just keep doing partial water changes trying to lower the numbers before I drop $100 worth of fish in it if ya know what I mean.  Any ideas on the nitrate problem?  Everything else seems fine, it's the nitrates that were really high about a week after I set it up and ran it.  Should I drop some cheap test fish in it and see what happens???

I  normaly buy some ghost shrimp to help cycle the tank faster. It seems to work pretty good I set up a 55 in the garage last Saturday (6-28-08) and put some ghost shrimp in it and I put a frontosa in it yesterday and he is still alive! Well atleaast he was this morning.

I've got a brand new 40 breeder, but it doesn't have lids.

                          You could paint the trim.

$50 is not a bad deal.  I just don't have the need for it.

I just don't really have the room to paint it on my balcony.  Already did that once and it's a pain in the you know what.
