Looking for some small non Aggressive fish for a 5 Gallon

I am giving my daughter a 5 gallon tank for Christmas.  The tank (Eclipse 5 Gallon Hex)  has been setup and running for a couple of months with out any fish (well a goldfish that will go to the big tank).  I am looking for some non Aggressive small and will stay small fish  for her.  I live in Katy.  Let me know if you have anything that will work.

Jelly bean tetras are nice and stay small
Ember tetras after settling in get a really nice almost glowing amber/orange
Neons are nice too but sometimes finicky
Guppies will breed like rabbits which should be fun for your daughter to watch
Shrimp is always an option

Cardinal Tetra's would work great...and she'd probably enjoy the color. Here's a pic

I have the same 5 gallon tank but personally think rummy nose may be on the large and active side for such a small tank.  CRS and some Cardinals would look nice.

IMO Cardinals are a bit big for it too....they school much nicer in a longer tank.

Yeah, I think cardinal or rummy nose tetras would need a nice big tank to school. I'm going to throw some in my next big tank if I ever buy one. Bruce, I have three more small common goldfish. You can have those if you want them.

Oh yeah, I have a couple guppies too. Just plain old feeder type that you can have if you want.

Thank you all for the information and offers.  Ranakalea gave me a couple of his endlers and a zebra that is perfect for the tank.  Looks like we are going to have babies soooon!  Please close this topic
