Does the moss grow faster after you remove the balls ?
'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Just FYI, these are actually algae balls and will spread like it if it was to ever break up.

So you are saying they are not the real deal, or that is what the real deal is....just moss?  Does it break up easily?  Wouldn't my RCS like it even more?

Looks cool whatever it is.....count me in for 3.  Might turn out to be just a buffet table for the fish????

Some fish will love it! (Trophs) but make sure you qt it first, would suck to lose fish over it. The shrimp will forage off of it as well but IMO Moss looks better, does the same thing and will only look better if it spreads unlike chlado which will look like the algae that forms on rocks and stuff in the river.

They do not break up easily, nor do they grow quickly. I have had one for about 2 years. When it was in my shrimp tank, it was the focal point of the tank. The ball just lets larger with age.

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

fish-r-us used to keep these in stock.  Found them there after I bought some online.  I think they were about 5 each.  they were about 2.5" in diameter.

Some algae eaters will nibble/shred them - suks wehn that happens.  I used to keep them in my shrimp tank too.  Now they're in whatever tank needed greenery after the move.  I wouldn't mind having more - they're neat looking.
