It is a nice looking tank, and the stand looks nice too, by any chance is there a filter and heater included ? Maybe a few other goodies to stimulate a potential buyer?

Thanks! I loved this tank, but its dimensions make it tricky to fit in a smaller apartment. I loved these dimensions because it allows larger fish to swim in all directions, not just the lenthwise. Anyways, the only things I can give out are the substrate, glass covers on the top, and of course, some basic lights with high output bulbs. The filters and heaters I need for the 1 tank I am keeping. I actually took the smaller EHEIM 2217's from both of my other tanks and put them all together for my remaining 125 gallon long.

Heaters and filtration really aren't that hard to get though. I see a lot of posts where people get hung up about other tanks for sale not coming with them. I know it sweetens the deal, but just the other day I saw someone selling a 2228 EHEIM on the forum. That would be more than enough for this tank, and they only wanted 75$ for it. If its a deal breaker, I'll knock some $$ off my price. I can be reasonable Chichild fan :-)

In real estate, it's location location location, in the open market for used private party items, its about timing and delivery or how well you present your item for sale. In certain times, under proper conditions you could sell this tank for 550.00 no sweat, but at this time, (drawing close to the holidays) your potential buyers will be greatly concerned about the upcoming holidays, I am anyway.

So I would venture to say, you might consider a new market area and approach or try a price drop or both.

          Good Luck

CF, A price drop is not out of the questions. What would you recommend? Whatever is considered fair is fine with me, Im just not going to give this thing away either. What do you mean by "new market area" You mean like, trying to sell it in Dallas?

Have you tried listing on Craigslist or Aquabid?

There is also the Greensheet and Chronicle.

It really isn't a bad deal, but with the Auction this weekend and now the holidays it will be more of a challenge to sell for what you want for it right now.  I'm not saying it won't sell, you may very well find a buyer today or tomorrow...who knows.

              Good luck.

Re: 125 Gallon Oceanic Tank FOR SALE

                Alberto,

If your looking for suggestions, I would say that it is very difficult to confirm from your photo graphs that the tank is oceanic.  In your pictures there are no signs of the classic Oceanic markings unless we are viewing the tank from the backside.  Which could be the case since you have the chip in the bottom left corner.  What I am a little suspecious about is the trim color.  Oceanic Dark Oak trim I do not think was that dark of a color, unless the tank is Cherry Oak?, but maybee it was a custom or something I did not see before.  The stand is the Oceanic Pine Stand that has a stain to make it a darker color.  With the glass tops and lights all working and in good order, but you dont show them very well in the photo.  I would show some views of the tank showing the glass tops and lightstip.

You might even want to say what bulbs comes with the lightstrip or atleast if the light strip is a single bulb or dual bulb lightstrip.

If the tank is really oceanic, and with the damage, I'd say its worth $200 just for the glass tank.  If the tank has a dual light strip with good bulbs, and the glass tops are in good order, you can add another $100 to that price.  The stand looks in good order, and I would say it is worth $150.

So, in my opinion, I say it's worth atleast $450 if all of that is in order.  The gravel is just gravy on the deal.

I dont have any room to buy a tank but, if you give some better details, I am sure some people would start taking more interest.

                Hope this helps..

Re: 125 Gallon Oceanic Tank FOR SALE

I agree with both Rockett and Geoff, I am not in the market in a new tank myself at this time, and my intent was merely to offer suggestions in hopes you could find a buyer. I was suggesting you advertise in other publications or web sources as mentioned by Rockett, those would be my choices as well.  A price drop would be my last resort, but if you felt it necessary, then by all means, do it.

                  Good Luck

This user did advertise the tank on Craigslist as of a few days ago.  I know it had been there for a while and I would buy the tank in a heart beat except I am completely broke right now and I could not afford this until the next year.

Thanks for all the tips guys. I think a pricedrop would be in order. Again, I only seek what is fair, and if now is a bad time to sell, I can always try again later. Great opinons on the lighting and the top, Ill be sure to take pictures of them. Actually, saldy one of the glass tops broke some time ago (curious cats), so I have 3 out of 4. I checked with glass cutters and a new glass would be 30$, so I didnt think it would be that big a deal. Anyhow, Ill repost on craigs and aquabid (never heard of it till today)

If the timing is off, then Im sure you'll see me posting again in a few months, probably when I move. Thanks again for all the advice and support!
