Looking to start a shrimp colony of 30-50 for a 20 gal long tank. I'm thinking some Cherry Reds, but open to whatever.

I honestly wouldn't start off with more than 10-15 shrimp. RCS and Yellow shrimp are both Neocardina species and will multiply quickly. It is your choice though.
Just to give you another option, I have snowball shrimp ($1ea) and sakura reds ($2ea). These are Neos as well. I also have malawa ($1ea) and blueberry ($3ea) which make great starter shrimp but aren't very colorful.Scarecrow : I haven't got a brain... only straw.
Dorothy : How can you talk if you haven't got a brain?
Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.
