I spoke with Truang yesterday about a black aro, he only gets them when his supplier has them. They are a pretty price but worth every penny IMO.

yep they are nice... i think the last time he had it he was selling for like 150 and they were like 4" long

Fishmart on Eastex freeway (at Tidwell) just had a nice group of 4" - 6" silvers for about $40. I just called there and was told they sold the last one earlier this week. Said they have a fish shipment coming in Monday, but no Arowana coming this time. If I see any I'll update this thread.

I had one a couple months ago.. It was like 14".. I gave it away. It really bothers me that 10" Silvers go for $100+ in Houston.. And in Cali, people are selling 18" ones for like $20 or giving them away. If you know what you're doing, buy a 3"-4" one at City Pets for $25 I believe and raise it. Should get a minimum of 2" a month if you do everything right. If you do plan on growing one out, DO NOT grow it out in a small tank. Grow it out in the biggest tank you can put it in. You'll achieve better growth rate. My current Jardini grew from 3" to 10" in 3 months. Good luck.

I was in my LFS tonight and saw that they have 3 silver arowanas. Each are between 5" to 8" and look healthy. They are asking $49.99. Seeing as you are in Alief, you should know my LFS is Animal Ark in Kingwood. Just thought I'd let you know. I took a few photos, but I'm not sure how to post them from my phone.
