    Re: Black gravel?

EK, if I may answer this question here on your thread.....ummmmm....Sand Express, ever hear of them? off highway 71, somewhere close to the 10 frwy. It's black sand blasting sand, the stuff is dirty and needs to be cleaned over and over, but once it is clean, it is very nice looking on the bottom of a tank, a bit thin too, so don't put your intake tube to close to it.

      Re: Black gravel?

Aqua Zoo sells black blasting sand for $25 per 100lbs.  They get it locally from somewhere close, so I'm sure it's marked up a bit.  But it's not quite fine enough to clog up or wipe out filters from what I have found but it is really dirty and needs thorough cleaning.  I have it in all of my tanks except one.

Bumping this one up cause I plan to swap the substrate either this coming weekend but most likely the following....picking up the replacement sand this week.

I will purchase the trash can in which the gravel will go into.....whoever wants all of this will pay for the trash can and bring me a NOS energy drink and we will call it even!

Scarecrow: I don't know... But some people without brains do an awful lot of talking... don't they?
Dorothy: Yes, I guess you're right.

Well there is about 2" in a 6' tank so I am guessing a big trash can....possibly rubbermaid.

Round, rectangular?  What color will it be?  I can't have anything throwing off my hispanic home color scheme.  Also, will it have a lid?

By chance will it have wheels and a handle?

Oh, and why is sand being put inside the trash can?  Won't that scratch it up some?

                Thanks

                  Re: Black gravel?

Gravel is going into the trash can, not the sand......for something to match your hispanic color scheme I can trade out the new can for one of the ones on the side of the house.

Wheels, Handles, Lid....if there is one then it's a freebie if not then you get what you pay for.

Raul was raised by wolves in Matamoras where a Light skinned family (white) took him in and thought him how two legged's interacted also felt it was fitting that he had a Hispanic name.....he is no Raul Turner.

Texas born, but raised all over Central and Eastern US.  Benefits from being an Air Force Brat.  I've spent alot of time in Oklahoma, Louisiana and all the way up to New Hampshire.  Let me tell you, it gets cold up there buddy.  My family treasure sounded like a vibrator, shaking from the cold.
