Most 40 gallon tanks (breeder) are 36 x 18 x 17(ish) tall

36-3/16" x 18-1/4" x 16-15/16"

I went to Petco @ Mason Road/Kingsland in Katy (Close to Mason and I-10)

They have the following I saw :
2x 55G
2x 40G
3x 29G
~6x 20G
and a wall full of 10G (they are not on sale but sell for $12.)
They are ALL black rim, none of them are Oak.

** This store does not have any fish as their fish system broke down and has been broken for months.  Today they removed all the tanks on their wall  in anticipation of new tanks coming in sometime in September.  This may help you out getting tanks, as everyone arounds knows this store does not stock much in the fish department because their bread and butter is gone.   IE stuff leaves slowly from this store. **

IF it wasnt because I am broke right now I would pick up one of the 40's and see if I could get some of CF's Cedar Gang Fry because I think they look absolutely cool in the youtube video.

Thanks for the dimensions WS but mine's not a breeder.  It's an All Glass like the ones that they have a PETCO.  It measures 36x12x19.(LxDxH)

I just bought one today Hanson, and I definatly don't have room another one. I'll probably kick myself later but I've reached my quota on tanks for now. That I'll need money to buy gas to get places.

interesting...this site claims to have all the All Glass Dimensions which read differently than the dims you just specified.

36X12X24 which should fit on a 30g long stand quite nicely.

The Petco on 1960 and stuebner airline/veterans memorial has two of the 45g talls and some 55gs....it's also down the street from Mike's so you can swing by there and get them tanks filled.
