Be careful with requiem type sharks. 500 gallons really isnt that much for a big shark that constantly moves

We will keep our eyes open for small sharks. we catch them all the time in matagorda. but most are to big for a 500gl tank.

In a 500 gallon you really need a smaller cat shark, they can reach adult size and can be done with a decent amount of work. Fish Ranch 2 or Fish Gallery both can get them. They are usually sold as eggs (mermaids' purses) or as younger juveniles. Sharks in home aquariums can be very difficult, but these are actually manageable. Nearly all your other sharks just are too large and have far too many needs placed on the aquarist with filtration and maintanance that they are truly impossible to keep and maintain properly. I have seen a few carpets or wobbegongs that might work, given your tank size and if your willing to special order one.
