Im pretty close to downtown area, and I don't mind if the items are used, but I prefer them to be on the newer side. Used for less than half a year or so.

        Welcome!

Since this post is in the Fish Market and we don't want to get off subject too much, why don't you start a thread and tell us a little about yourself so we can all welcome you!

Have you checked out Village Tropical on Shepard?? I think that they would have some too, but I'm not 100% on that...give them a ring.

                  Here's a thread about Village:
HoustonFishBox is an online community dedicated to bringing together people and their fish in Houston, Southeast Texas, and beyond.

And if you want to find an LFS close by, or just around Houston, you can go to the member map on top of the page and click on points of interest, which will show you LFS around here. There's also a sticky in the Website announcement forum. And plenty of reviews, too!

Re: WTB - Sponge Filter and Heater

I don't know of anyone local that sells Hydro, I do know of several online places that carry Hydro.

                    Jehmco is one.

If anyone knows of a LFS that carries them, please post and let us know.

Is this for a show tank?

If not, why not make your own?  It's not hard.  Come to the Swap in Huffman on Saturday and you can see some in use.

Re: WTB - Sponge Filter and Heater

I don't really like buying things online so I'd prefer to buy it locally, but if I don't find anything locally I guess I'll try buying it online.

I'll try and see if I can make one myself, I'm not too good at making things though :?

interesting, i was at village yesterday and they had the old style sponges not the hydro, keep looking man if you find a store that does let me know. you could also ask the owners to order it for you. i know Mike at fish ranch will order supplies typically, it doesnt cost him any extra, and i bet Village will too except for the hustle of them moving.
