You want peacocks that will not hybridize with outher peacocks?

There are consindered (I believe) 4 different families of Peacocks.. within each of those families there at enough difference in them they usually can be kept in the same tank.

          Read article on cichlid forum.

Thanks Aggro, I'll see if they come here..

Armthehomeless: Yes, there are certain peacocks/haps that can be kept in breeding groups that will not hybridize. I have been suggested a few by a local LFS owner..

Danielp: I am not sure, I only have one large male currently..

            Thanks Jesper!

It isn't even that... how are you going to tell which female is which if you are planning on breeding (with the assumption of selling)?

when your 2 species of peacocks reach maturity in a 55,there will only be room for 1
dominate male.the weaker male gonna have trouble

Jughead: Really? I was told I could house two trios :/ That's a little bit of a let down...

Armthehomeless: I would simply have to get fish that carry enough differences that the females can be told apart. I know they can, for at the store, a Ngara female carried obvious physical differences in comparisons to the sunshines. But guessing by what jughead has said, I won't have room for more than one species sadly.

anything is possible, people make unlikely combos happen all the time.chances are, when your fish reach full adult size, the toughest male will work the other males over.in my opinion,if producing fry is your goal, one species, lots of females.good luck

                      Alright, thanks for the advice!

None the less, I am seeking to trade off the guys mentioned above! Perhaps for some bottom cleaners or cash? Or some sunshine peacock females..

But again, feel free to make me any kind of offer! You never know what might fit in somewhere!

                          Bump again :]

Two of the julies are a pair, and are 4inches or so long, if anyone's interested. These guys are proven breeders.

May also have some pairs of leluepi, range from 2in to 3.5 or so. Really large and colorful..

Daffodil is bright and full of personality.

All eat really well, and are great fish.
