'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust ...'
He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four-year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'

Add your location to your profile. That way those of us who have banana worms can work out who is closest to your area of town and get a culture to you.

Microworms / Banana worms are great for the first couple of weeks but by day 10 they need a bunch of food.

                              been there

actually theres no need for brine shrimp or the problems they create.
been there done that but appreciate the reply.
its a 50 gallon tank, but its not jam packed full of fry. there are tons though.
i allow the parents to raise the fry for the first month so i guess that just blew the 10 day theory away. they are happily accepting the flake food i mix. krill, brine, shrimp pellets, spirilina, color bits etc. i always buy everything and then grind it all up into tiny bits and they are all doing well ( way beyond day ten) day 20 and day thirty.
they color up after 2 weeks and seem as happy as fish can be. no loss in quantity or quality and no need for brine shrimp. ( in my opinion )
im just interested in the microworms / Bannana worms to see if theres any difference in growth rate.
or eating habits. i read a study from the website where they checked the contents of kribensis stomach's and they noted that the fish had high amounts of microscopic algae for stomach contents ( forget the tech word 4 it ) which suggests that the fry in a well established tank will find enough micro-algae to thrive and this seems to be working for me.
they do fine without brine, and its less work with the exact same results.
