odyssea protein skimmer

anyone had any experience with this skimmer? thinking about getting this for my 40b tank with 30g sump.

knock off, should work fine but get a few sizes larger than what you are needing it for. I'm sure with a little tweaking it would be a good working skimmer.

There was an one that's rated for 75g but im going to go with the bigger one that is rated for 160.

just be careful of the amount of water it takes to fill it up, if you're using it on a small set up it could be the breaking point of a flood.

Some people complain about the quality of them, I've used both the in sump and hob and both work very well. Just need to mess and tweak it like Ek said. Should be some mods online somewhere for the in sump one.

Mesh mod and gate valve = BEAST

found this one video where they took fishing line and wrapped the impeller. would that work the same as the mesh mod?
