With say 2x MH fixtures. Is there a way to put them on some kind of 24hour controller? Or are they just flat on and off? I guess for dawn/dusk you could set it for just 1 fixture, then have the second one turn on later in the morning
Was looking at those Odyssea fixtures, knew they were too good to be true. Just spent an hour reading reviews and it doesn't look good. I got excited a bit easy there.
That's a nice looking fixture! Looks like it's stand is made for rimless tanks though and suspending isn't an option being in an apt complex. I have access to one of the JBJ Viper R2 150w clamp fixtures, I'm trying to find a second one to go with it. Toss 14000k bulbs in it and be done with it. I must be thinking way too hard about all of this, the options are endless
Taking my tank to City Pets to get drilled today - Should I have 2 drains and 2 returns or just 1 of each. Looking at getting holes drilled 1 3/4" so that I have a 1" bulkhead. Maybe a 2" hole for the drain. Thinking I'll drill it 4" from the top and use an elbow pointed up with a strainer just so I can rotate it to find the correct amount of flow that I want. And for the return, toss on one of those flexible ball joint direction diffusers
Talked to Donnie, he mentioned 1" drain and 3/4" return. Should I do 2x 1" drains and bump the return to 1"? Im getting ready to go to him in the next 2hours or so. This will only mean I'll need something closer to a 1200gph pump then right?
Yeah, I was looking at maybe 3.5-4" from the top, which in a 40gal is what, maybe 10-12gallons? Looks like my stand will be able to hold a 29gal tank too for a refugium
Photo's would be a big help. I'm more of a visual person. I too am working on a 40 at the moment. I was also considering drilling for a overflow box. One for overflow, one for return.
