led lighting help

i just bought an fluval spec. i will be getting a DIY led kit. which color combination would you recommend and how many of the 3w led? will be ordering from http://www.aquastyleonline.com.

Which spec did you get?

I'm running 8 cree xr-e over my spec V and so far I've only ran it at half power. 4 natural whites and 4 royal blue

yeah i got the spec v. do you have some pic of how the lighting is? i was thinking the same with 8 3w led. 3 white 3 royal blue and 1 red and 1 green/uv

Having used the magenta led I wouldn't do it again unless I was going with several blues/whites to add to it but with only 4/4 I don't want to chance it. The red is really overpowering for the minimal amount of LEDs.

With 5blue/white stunner strips, 1 royal blue and a single magenta the red was very overpowering.
